Building Safety Officer

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in Greater London is currently recruiting for a Building Safety Project Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a housing safety and compliance environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role ids to support the Building Safety Delivery Manager in the commissioning, management, and delivery of fire safety remediation projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, budgetary control, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the delivery of remediation projects for at least 15 buildings, valued at approximately £25 million.
  • Assisting in preparing business cases, capital budgets, revenue forecasts, and works programmes.
  • Ensuring projects meet time, quality, and budget targets while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to oversee project delivery.
  • Developing and maintaining due diligence files on all buildings involved in the remediation programme.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will require:

  • A degree or professional qualification in property, development, construction, or a related field, or extensive industry experience.
  • A strong understanding of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and associated regulations.

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

  • Project management expertise, including budget management and risk analysis.
  • Experience in managing consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel (intermediate level or above).

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £50,000 per annum.
