Building Control Surveyor

A client within the Public Sector based in Blackpool is currently recruiting for a Building Control Professional to join their team as soon as possible. The client's Building Control service is at the forefront of driving quality development as part of major initiatives and delivering large-scale projects. The Role

Key purpose of the role:
The Building Control service plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of development in Blackpool, managing a wide variety of building control cases and providing expert advice on both domestic and commercial projects. The post holder will undertake technical assessments and activities, making informed decisions based on professional qualifications and practical experience.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a caseload of domestic and general non-domestic projects, taking enforcement action as necessary.
  • Conduct site inspections, liaising with relevant organisations and consultees.
  • Undertake site inspections in relation to dangerous structures and instruct necessary remedial actions.
  • Prepare case files for enforcement or other legal action to maintain compliance with Building Regulations and the Building Act 1984.
  • Provide advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on compliance with Building Regulations 2010 (as amended) and the Building Act 1984.

The Candidate

To be considered for this role, you will require the following essential qualifications:

  • Registered with Building Safety Regulator as minimum Class 2E (Assessment & Inspection).
  • Full membership in CABE, RICS, or MCIOB.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in the building control sector.
  • Detailed knowledge of building construction and excellent understanding of Building Regulations.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering a competitive rate of £70 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £60 per hour PAYE).
