Assistant Estates Officer

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Assistant Estates Officer to work a agency contract based within the NHS Worcestershire.

Responsible for:
Assist in the provision of a professional Estates Management service in Kidderminster. Management of directly employed trade staff and Contractors. Assist in ensuring that sites are maintained and compliant with applicable statutory and NHS Mandatory Standards across the Hospital Estate.

The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of Building Services maintenance within WAHT. Day to day the post holder will act under the direction of an Estates Officer and will act as Deputy site lead at KTC / AHR. The post holder would be expected to take on Authorised Person duties within the Trust and would ideally be able to offer Medical gases pipeline systems (MGPS) Authorised person, HV/LV AP and an additional Authorised person discipline. The job will require the post holder to ensure statutory / mandatory compliance. The post holder will also be expected to assume site lead responsibilities in the absence of the Estates Officer.

In carrying out their role the job holder will:

  • Assist in leading the Maintenance team, in a way that achieves maximum flexibility and productivity for the Trust
  • Act as EO in the event of any EO being absent
  • Monitor and enforce the standards of maintenance carried out by in-house staff or sub-contractors (on plant and equipment managed by the estates department)
  • Manage statutory and mandatory requirements, in line with statute and best industry practice
  • Assist in implementing a robust planned preventative and corrective maintenance system to ensure the efficient operation, compliance and integrity of the Estate
  • Maintain up to date asset registers, PPM records and other applicable records
  • Ensure the standards found in Health Technical Memorandums (HTM's) and other applicable documents are understood and followed wherever possible
  • Assist in creation and implement departmental procedures and policies
  • Follow the directions of Estates management team and Trust SFIs to ensure the Estates budget is followed
