? Job Opportunity: Transitional Safeguarding Outreach Worker – Manchester (Grade 6) ?

Manchester Local Care Organisation (MLCO), in partnership with Manchester City Council, is looking for a Transitional Safeguarding Outreach Worker to join their dedicated team.

? Salary: Grade 6
? Full-Time | Temporary/Contract Role

? About the Role: As a Transitional Safeguarding Outreach Worker, you’ll play a key role in engaging young people aged 16–25 who are at risk of exploitation, abuse, neglect, or homelessness. You'll carry out assertive outreach, build trusted relationships, and provide tailored support to help them lead safer, more independent lives.

This role is all about proactive, person-centred support—working in partnership with professionals and community organisations to create meaningful change.

? Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver assertive outreach to engage vulnerable young people.

  • Build trust using a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.

  • Complete holistic assessments and develop personalised support plans.

  • Liaise with multi-agency professionals and attend safeguarding meetings.

  • Promote independence, resilience, and positive transitions into adulthood.

? About You:
  • You care deeply about young people and have experience supporting those facing complex social challenges.

  • You’re confident engaging with hard-to-reach individuals and understand how to assess and reduce risk.

  • Strong communication, planning and IT skills are essential.

  • An NVQ Level 4 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to complete within 6 months) is required.

  • Enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
