Internal HR Manager

About Jessica

Firstly, how long have you been at Service Care?

I joined in March 2018.

Give us a brief overview of your professional background...

I have a variety of management experience ranging from retail, hospitality and telecoms before establishing that 'people management' was a true passion of mine. I completed the Level 5 CIPD qualification enabling me to pursue a career in HR, landing my first HR role at Service Care Solutions and progressed to the Level 7 CIPD qualification.

And what does your day-to-day involve?

I am responsible for our People Pillar, which includes Wellbeing, Internal Recruitment, On-boarding, Training and Development, Engagement, Supporting Career Pathways and Continuous Professional Development. Each day ranges from administrative tasks, writing policies, advising managers and supporting colleagues with questions, queries and concerns plus much more!

If you weren't in recruitment, what would you be doing?

My dream has always been to own my own café-bar, so hospitality would definitely be the route aside from HR!

What is your favourite quote/best piece of advice you've ever been given?

"To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart."

When you're not in work, where can we find you?

Spending quality time with my husband and dog, Ziggy - we like going on walks, cinema dates and having a few drinks in our garden bar with our favourite music & card games.
