Here at Service Care Solutions, we know the importance of taking care of our employees' mental health. Right now, more than ever (with lockdown, anxiety, routine changes and uncertainty) it is incredibly important to keep an eye on your peers, friends and colleagues.
On World Suicide Prevention Day, we wanted to look at the ways in which we offer support to our employees in the hope that it inspires other businesses to do the same.
Internal Support
We have a HR team who are constantly looking for ways to improve mental health and wellbeing for our team members. As well as this, all staff members have monthly reviews with their line manager where their wellbeing can be discussed and there are support networks in place for anyone that feels they need them.
Lancashire Mind Wellbeing Coaching
These are completely confidential 30 minute 1-to-1wellbeing coaching sessions, delivering low intensity interventions to help people build resilience, develop healthy coaching strategies and improve their wellbeing and quality of life. The coaches support and motivate people to improve their health and wellbeing by helping them utilise resources and develop self-care skills. All employees have access to the service and book the slots directly with Mind, rather than having to go through our HR division.
Able Futures
We have partnered with Able Futures, a service that provides a wide range of mental health support services delivered by qualified health care professionals. They try to understand any difficulties you are experiencing and create an individual plan of support. There is no cost for this service and it is confidential, fast and flexible. This service is available for all of our candidates, as well as our employees.
Mental Health First Aiders
We are sending a number of our staff to train to be mental health first-aiders so that they can be on hand to help anyone in the office (or working remotely) that is going through a tough time. These first-aiders will learn practical mental health skills and get awareness training to help to make the workplace safer, healthier and happier.
If you are struggling then please reach out to friends, family or a charity such as Mind or The Samaritans
We are currently recruiting for people to work at our Preston Head Office, as well across all of the sectors we supply staff for. If you are interested in a role, please contact us here.
