Behind the Scenes of Our New Offices

After months of planning, loud noises, vans and hi-vis jackets we are thrilled to announce that our newly extended and refurbished offices are now OPEN!

Whilst there has been some disruption with noise, parking, dust etc. it has definitely been worth the wait:

The number of employees at Service Care Solutions has doubled since we moved into the building on Starkie Street, Preston in 2015 so the expansion was definitely needed! With our turnover now at £44 million, our Managing Director, Richard Freye, says that they anticipate the headcount to grow by another 10% (to around 120) within the next few years. The building was renamed Arthur House, after Richard’s eight-year-old son, so it seemed only fitting that Arthur, himself, would be the one to cut the ribbon to officially open the premises following the extensive works.

We invited all of our staff to attend the ceremony, followed by a Bucks Fizz breakfast, to celebrate a new era in the Victorian building (which dates back to 1844) and to say thank you for putting up with any disruption.

Richard comments, “The reason for the expansion was simply because we ran out of room as our team expanded. Not only this, but we wanted to create a great environment for us to work (and play) in! I am extremely proud to see my vision come to life, and to have my son by my side for the opening is the icing on the cake!” Richard started the company in 2005 from his back bedroom with two mobile phones and a desire to provide a great service to both clients and candidates. Fast-forward fourteen years and the company’s success is plain to see. Features of Arthur House include: a dedicated break-out floor with pool table, dart board, ping pong, table football, big screens and comfy sofas; a stunning roof terrace for summer BBQs and functions; eight meeting rooms; four kitchens; onsite parking and showers with locker areas to encourage staff to run or cycle to work. As well as this, the 11,500ft building is Carbon Positive, meaning the company offsets 150% of their carbon footprint through using eco-friendly solutions and reducing energy consumption. Solar panels are also due to be installed in 2019, further decreasing the impact Service Care Solutions has on the environment.

The Directors would like to say a big thank you to the following companies:

A special word of thanks also goes out to the senior management team for their support throughout the works and for organising the logistics of moving 100 people from desk to desk!
